2019 Buddhist Pathways Prison Project (BP3) Training & Community RetreatRegistration Form
2019 BP3 Community Retreat and Training
When: August 9 – 11, 2019
Where: The Mercy Center, 2300 Adeline Drive, Burlingame, CA 94010
This year our annual retreat will be held at the Mercy Center, which is located on a 40-acre site approximately 15 miles south of San Francisco, close to BART and San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
Susan Shannon (a Buddhist Chaplain at San Quentin prison and also a GRIP facilitator) will be our lead facilitator on Friday. Jacques Verduin (Founder of GRIP) will serve as our lead facilitator on Saturday. On Sunday, we will have our own BP3 facilitators. We expect to have a number of special guests with us including several returning citizens (aka formerly incarcerated people) and one or two experts from relevant fields. Our theme for this retreat will center around helping people work with trauma using Buddhist teachings and practices.
BP3 volunteers are expected to attend the annual retreat at least once. Many volunteers attend year after year for the sense of community and the chance to share ideas.
Scholarships are available. Many thanks to the Lenz Foundation for a generous grant that helps cover the costs of scholarships and other expenses.
